e-Communication
has definitely been a huge blessing in my life. It has shown me my passion and
has given me options with what I want to pursue in life. I joined my sophomore year because I never
really knew what it was my freshman year. Through the course of being in e-Comm
for 3 years, I have gained many skills. I’ve learned how to set up cameras, set
up interviews, edit videos, make websites, and set up a blog. I’ve also learned
how to collaborate with others to create videos and stories. These skills are
important to life because they will help with my future career field and they
will help me able to work with other people through out life.
My greatest
strengths are collaborating with people to create stories and editing videos.
My weaknesses are probably not working super fast. I like to take my time with
videos, so I am able to make them the best I possibly can. I am considering
majoring in either sports broadcasting or film editing, so I can use these
skills later on in life.
If I could
change anything about this program, I would change the way things are handled.
I would make sure that I wouldn’t schedule the senior showcase on athletic
nights because it screws seniors, who have put so many years and hours into
this program, from getting endorsed. I would also make sure things are
communicated better. I had no idea I could have gone and presented my senior portfolio
at a different time to get endorsed, not one e-Comm teacher communicated that
with me.
I think this
program helps students get really far in the broadcast/journalism world. I
think it’s a great program, but with everything it has its flaws.
